When was the last time you were really listened to?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 05, 2008:
I am very blessed to be really listened to now in my life. Funny, the deeper I am able to listen to others (seen and unseen) the more I am listened to. Give and it gives back! Be the bigger person, listen even when you don't feel you are being listened to - is a lesson I am grateful for!

Help

Listen to children, especially the very little ones who are just learning to talk. You may not understand the all the words, although you will if you listen carefully and watch the body language. One of my most memorable conversations was with a two year old. I was watering my plants outside and he came up to me. We talked about the water and the water hose for about 20 minutes. While at the washhouse a 13 month old used his best, and almost his only, words to tell me about his life. He had recently moved and he told me, “I go go”.
Adults so often discount what children have to say and are too busy to listenand yet they are full of language, information and a view of the world that is innocent and focused on its simplest wonders.
Yes, so it is..
give what you want to have
teach what you learn and
your circle is always full..
thanks for this.. love tara
So true Rhonda. I love listening to children, they are such unobstructed channels of love and light and truth.
I agree with Rhonda and Tara…I think children can be the best teachers. They are only honest and do not know how to spare your feelings…which can be helpful on your journey. I know they have enlightened me several times! LOL
The best way to get others to listen to you is to be quiet and listen to them and to your inner self…people really begin to truly listen to you if they feel you are truly intent and listening to them.
